The Sweat Alberta Retreat is a women’s only weekend full of workouts, HIIT, yoga, speakers, and socialization to bring our Alberta health & wellness communities together and foster a supportive environment centered around health, wellness, and being the best version of you possible!

When: October 19-21, 2018

Where: Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity.

Who: ALL women – ages, appearances, experience & ability do NOT matter. ALL women welcome, but space is limited!

Bring a friend, make new ones, try new things, learn more about how to live a healthy lifestyle, and most importantly, have FUN!

Cost: $500
You can pay one of two ways:
1. Register and pay a non-refundable $200 deposit now. The remaining $300 is due no LATER than August 15.

2. Register and pay the entire $500 amount now.
Registration will remain open until September 15, or until all spots fill, whichever comes first.

I am a self proclaimed health and fitness junkie! Over the past 12 years in the fitness industry, my personal philosophy and approach has evolved. I was not raised surrounded by health but as soon as I experienced the power I held to create how I felt I was hooked!! 

 I must admit, when I began my journey in fitness I was primarily focused on how the body looked. However, as my experience has grown and life has transformed, so has my philosophy.

 I have discovered the key to being awesome… is feeling awesome, and this means taking care of ourselves on all levels. Fitness to me is now the engine that allows me to take part in my life, to play with my kids at the park and to lead my clients on their fitness journey. Nutrition and mindfulness is the fuel that allows me to enjoy and be present in the moment for all of it. I believe and train to be fit for life.

I am committed to sharing my understanding with open-minded individuals (like yourself!) who want to grow and reconnect to their true self. Balancing My Wellness Inc. was born out of this desire to share, co-create and make this world a happier place to be. I have aspirations of adding a new financial/budgeting service in the next couple of years as well as growing the retreat side of my business to include international destinations. I offer life coaching packages and registered yoga classes and can be hired on an as-need basis for workshops, retreats and private yoga.

What do I get for this $500.00?

$500 seems like a lot – what do we have to pay on top of this?

With the exception of one meal (Saturday night’s dinner), alcoholic beverages, additional snacks/beverages purchased at café’s located in the facility, admission to the national park, and rental equipment for climbing (should you choose to participate it is $6) the ENTIRE weekend is PAID FOR with your $500 fee!

What is your refund policy if I pay and then am unable to come?

$200 of every registration is NON-refundable. We will refund $300 of the $500 if this is requested prior to September 15. After that, you must make your own arrangements to fill your spot and coordinate with your replacement to receive payment from them to you directly. No exceptions.

How do I get to Banff?

You are responsible for your own transportation to and from Banff for the weekend. We highly suggest carpooling to cut down on costs, and make the drive more fun. We will be providing lists of attendees that live in the same city closer to the date so that you are able to make these arrangements. You also need the Canada Parks Pass. This pass is required in order to stay and park in the park. The cost is $19.60 per day, 2 days required ($39.20 total). As mentioned above, we recommend carpooling and then splitting this cost among yourselves.

I have dietary restrictions; will I be able to eat the meals?

We will be working with the Banff Centre to accommodate as many dietary restrictions as possible by offering buffet style meals. On the registration form you will be sent, there will be an area to fill out any of this information. Please note that if you do NOT fill this section out completely and in full, we cannot guarantee the meals will be devoid of any allergens for you. If you have any allergies that are not listed on the sheet, please make note of them under the OTHER section.

Can I choose who I share a room with?

We will do our best to accommodate all requests. Please note on your registration form your preferred roommate. Lodging is at Banff Centre (yes, same place as all the fitness activities at Sally Borden Fitness & Recreation Centre)

I’ve never climbed before, am I still able to try?

Yes, of course! Staff at the facility will show each new arrival around the gym and whether you rent or bring a harness, this will include how to use the auto-belays, which are machines that take care of the ropes for the users.  In other words, no prior experience is needed.  Rental equipment is available at a cost of $3/shoes, and $3/harness, and this cost will NOT be covered with your registration fee.

  • This waiver must be filled out and provided to the desk staff prior to climbing
